Don Mills

Dr. Donald L. Mills has served in a variety of independent school districts, charter schools and private schools. Having been a single foster parent Dr. Mills has a deep appreciation for charter schools. He also has an array of experiences in the school system including classroom teacher, coordinating teacher, curriculum coordinator, director, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent as well as an adjunct faculty member. Dr. Mills is currently the CEO/Superintendent of Imagine Educational Foundation in San Antonio, Texas with three campuses serving early childhood 3-year old’s to grade 9.
His academic background is as diverse as his experience. He holds degrees in biblical studies (A.A.), psychology (B.S. and M.S. LSSP), business management (B.S.), special education (B.S.E.) and educational leadership (M.A.) Restorative Practices (M.S.) and an Ed. D. with specialization in Curriculum and Instruction.
He has utilized this experience to assist other charter operators in meeting state and federal accountability. He has previously served on the board of directors for the TPCSA, he has spoken at both the state and federal charter schools conference, he serves as a state mentor for the Charter School Division of the TEA, he is a charter reviewer for the TEA, and has served on the evaluation committee for NACSA. He is currently on the board of directors for ESC-20. He provides board training and support as a provider for the TEA for noth traditional ISD and Charter schools.
